FD&C Blue 1 Alum Lake
This blue is a "lake" color, which is a hybrid between a "dye" and a "pigment".
Appropriately used to dye products for personal use.

so if you want to make some awesome dye based eyeshadows or even blushes this blue is a must. You can use it to tone down red #40 into a brown or with yellow #5 to make a neon green eyeshadow.
This is a must have if you want a true blue color. A little goes a long way for cosmetic use. It's also great to use for hobbies such as dying wools, yarn, cloth., etc.

Why the increase in price? it was $4.00 for an ounce TKB Responds: All (or most) of our lake dyes went up in price in August, 2011 due to a supplier change.
