Polybutene

Polybutene is a light colored, nondrying, sticky liquid. In cosmetics and personal care products, it is used in the formulation of lipstick, eye makeup, hair and skin care products. Polybutene is gluten and vegan free. High-molecular weight (Average MW 1,200 D)

Polybutene Shelf Life: 3 years.

Applications:

Eyes – mascara
Properties – tacky, thickener, waterproof

Lips – lipstick, lip gloss, lip liner, lip balm
Properties – tacky, thickener, gloss, shine enhancer

Skin care – creams, lotions
Properties – emollient, non-comedogenic, no oily feel

Hair care – mousse, gel
Properties – tacky, thickener, gloss and spreadability
