D&C Red 7 CA Lake

I got this and red 6 because I didn't know the difference between either and the pictures didn't help.

It turns out that this is a more purple-red, and red 6 is an orange-red, while red 40 is the red you'd expect.

This also turns orange when heated with cationic materials (I mixed it with melted BTMS-25). Fun lesson to learn :)

Bought this expecting it to be a normal red, but it's actually a purple-ish red like raspberry unlike the soap and nailpolish photos in the picture. The red I was expecting came from Red 6. Don't make the same mistake as me.

Besides that, this pigment is wonderfully strong and you only need really really really tiny amount for what you need.

D & C Red 7 CA Lake is a beautiful color in lipstick.
