Lanolin, USP is a great skin protectorate and conditioner. It helps with chaffing and skin irritation due to moisture loss and makes for the perfect skincare product for nursing mothers. Lanolin, USP can be used for moisturizing dry skin and eczema, as well as healing cuts, scrapes and burns, and boost color in lip products.

Lanolin Cera (Lanolin wax)

A thick oil that comes from sheep's wool, used for extra dry skin and to boost color in lip products.

Lanolin is a thick oil which comes from sheep's wool. The oil is extracted from the wool during the shearing season so the animals themselves are NOT slaughtered for the oil. This is pharmaceutical grade (USP).

Lanolincan be rubbed directly on severely dry or cracked skin to sooth and heal. It is also a very useful additive to any lip recipe where you wish to boost the coloration.

Strong odor. Excellent and creamy occlusive.

If you make balms or glosses and don't have any qualms with being vegan this is such a good ingredient! It adds a sticky, creamy and waterproof feel to the final product. Did you know that several lip glosses on the market also contain the synthetic vegan version of this?

The only con is that it smells strong and sheepy despite being USP grade. Don't use too much and use some flavor/fragrance oil to mask it.

Great but smells awful

I rated this 5 stars since it's lanolin at a good price and it does what it's supposed to do. However, I disagree with the reviewers saying it's odorless. It smells bad, but I don't expect anywhere to sell ultra refined grades unless I'm at a drugstore buying them at $15 for an ounce.

Here's what I like:
- Excellent occlusive
- Very creamy, great in lip balms and glosses. (Did you know that many glosses have synthetic lanolin under the name of Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2?)
- Great texture

Cons:
- Bad smell out the bag
- Not vegan

For me, the smell didn't appear in the final product, but I only used 5% in my balms. I'd buy this if you plan on making thick things like balms and you aren't a vegan brand.
