Synthetic (vegan) base powder with exceptional skin feel.

Nylon-12

Particle size (1-15 microns).

Nylon-12 Powder is white base powder with a good price point, used in making all kinds of cosmetics. It is a great substitute for Talc, and has a similar soft skin feel. It is also shown to not block skin pores the way that mica and talc can. It has great slip, moderate oil absorption. It rolls across the skin because it is formed into spherical beads (as opposed to Mica's plate like shape, as an example).

These spherical beads allows the loose powder to expand and contract along the fine lines of the skin without filling them in, giving a nice, smooth appearance. It is also hypo-allergenic. The product is made in Korea.

This feedback from Sylvia, who asked us to bring this in: "Thanks for getting in nylon 12. Not only do cosmetics look finer when it is added, it's really hard to press mattes without it. The light ones are easier, but the really dark ones need the nylon 12 to keep the darkness."

Get this!

Get it, even if you don’t make your own cosmetics. Get it to add to your foundation or pressed powders to get a smooth satiny finish. I tested this with concealer just because it’s sitting right next to me and OMG,:scream: What a difference. Much better coverage and smoothed out large pores. I also used it to mattify a lipgloss. I can see this working well in eyeshadows and lipsticks. I didn’t even know I needed this! I got it in an order as a free gift and it’s just been sitting here. Finally picked it up and did a quick search on it and here I am writing a review and looking up DIY foundation recipes. I will be back to purchase this. Get it and give your makeup better coverage.

percentage recommendations?

hi, unless I didn’t see it, there aren’t percentage recommendations for this ingredient in the listing. I read somewhere up to 5%, but that seems very low to me since it can be a sub for talc. Thank you in advance for your recommendations!!

Great for cosmetics

I use this with silicone elastomer in my foundation and it makes a big difference. The nylon adds a blurring and mattifying effect that can't be substituted. I haven't noticed increased coverage but for matte cosmetics and blurring pores, it's a must have. Tkb customer service is also great! Ps for Canadian customers - if you can, call the shipping company and tell them you're going to clear the package with customs yourself - fedex adds extra charges to do it for you.
