What You’ll Make

A series of red gloss variations using Luxe Base (Flexagel ME) and three red systems — Lip Liquid, Lake, and Oxide — to understand undertone, opacity, and intensity.

Batch Size: 50 g per study.

Study 1 — Lip Liquid Red (Beginner Red)

• Luxe Base – 50 g

• Red Lip Liquid – 15–30 drops

Lesson:

Fast, easy dispersion.

Sheer-to-medium buildable red.

Lowest frustration.

This is the “safe red.”

Study 2 — Lake Red (High Impact)

• Luxe Base – 47 g

• Red Lake – 3 g

Lesson:

Higher opacity.

Stronger payoff.

Requires thorough mixing.

Explain:

Lakes disperse — they do not dissolve.

Mix slowly and completely.

Study 3 — Oxide Red (Muted Depth)

• Luxe Base – 47 g

• Red Oxide – 3 g

Lesson:

Earthier tone.

Less vibrancy than lakes.

Excellent for brick reds.

Study 4 — Deep Red (Controlled Bold)

• Luxe Base – 48 g

• Red Lake – 2 g

• Pigment Black – 1–3 drops

Lesson:

Depth without muddiness.

Black is powerful — add slowly.
