Silver Foil Metallic Powder

Silver Foil is a unique product in that it is made from FDA approved Aluminum (the metal) which has been coated with silica. It is not a mica, it is a metal.

CAUTION: This product contains aluminum. Aluminum pigments can cause spontaneous or delayed formation of hydrogen gas in contact with any water containing or water based formulations and need to be handled with special precaution. NOT for use on lips.

As you blend the product into other ingredients, you are discouraged from using a grinder. If you must grind, please first shake the ingredients together completely and then grind as a final step. Grinding is DISCOURAGED largely because the product loses its luster, brightness and beauty if it is subject to grinding.

As with all powders, use rubbing alcohol to clean your tools after working with Silver Foil and wear gloves and a face mask to protect yourself from undue exposure.

NOT recommended for cold process soap making because the aluminum releases gas when processed in soap.
