Making custom Melt and Pour color Blends for our Corporate Customer (and you!)
TKB is proud to manufacture its own pigments for soap makers and lipstick makers.
We have several large, corporate customers and one of them recently contact us with 6 swatches, asking us to produce matching Melt and Pour soap shades.
After some time in the lab, we came up with our new product line . . .
The next step for us before we launched the colors for sale to our own customers, was to do some color swatching. Because these colors have a lot of white in them, they are opaque. It is impossible to get a transparent color in clear soap, but we can get some nice milky looks. For example, here is the Pale Pink in both Clear Melt and Pour Soap and then in White Melt and Pour Soap.
To view all the new colors in Melt and Pour Soap, please visit them on their pages.
- TKB Apricot (we renamed it from Soft Peach)
- TKB Meadow Green
- TKB Spike Lavender (we renamed it from Lavender)
- TKB Buttercup
- TKB Cool Aqua
- TKB Pale Pink
Once we had the colors all "swatched" out, we decided to design something fabulous, just for fun. Here is our process (mess and all!)
Melted measured bases
Added fragrance and color, then poured first color in.
Sprayed with alcohol and let harden a couple of minutes to hold next layer
Poured second color, sprayed with alcohol and let harden a little bit.
Poured third color in.
After a couple of hours (really the day after)...
Ta-da!
