TKB Trading has supplied
soap bases, mica powders, soap colors and other soap making supplies to DIY crafters for over 20 years!

Top Three Techniques to Add Mica to Soap Making Projects:

1. Brush mica into your soap mold before pouring your base so that just the tops of your soaps have an added sparkle!

2. Blend our mica powders into your melted soap base for a swirly or uniform mica effect..

  • When mixing mica into a soap base, clear/transparent melt and pour soap bases such as TKB’s clear glycerine or crystal clear soap produce the best shimmery results!
  • When mixing mica into any type of soap base -- both melt and pour or cold process -- it is best to pre-blend the mica into a little water or oil first, and then mix that wetted powder into the base.  Otherwise you will get speckles of color.
  • 3. Decorate your soaps with mica after you’ve removed the soap bars from the mold:

    • You can accent your soaps by dry brushing mica onto specific areas, or even decorate the flat sides of the soap bars by using a stencil and mica like these gorgeous soap stenciled bars from Sorcery Soap.
