I had no idea how much I would love this. It is the secret ingredient in all my color cosmetic formulas. The smallest amount seem to bind all the ingredients together making everything more stable. Thank you for caring this. I want to buy more for fear of it selling out

If you mix 5% or so with castor oil, you'll get a thicker oil that can suspend pigments ;)

I wish the item title could've been renamed to its inci of polyhydroxystearic acid since I almost bought this form a place twice as expensive since I was looking for a suspending agent. I also wish they offered it in 4oz sizes. 10 grams is too little, but 8 ounces feels like a lifetime supply! Don't buy the 10 gram size because it comes in a bottle and is insanely hard to use the material unless you melt the bottle in the stovetop.

Anyways, this is the wax that's used to thicken and make sure the pigment doesn't sink to the bottom of TKB's lip liquids. I'm sure it's also great for general oil thickening and balm making. I highly suggest buying this if you make your own dispersed pigments in oil.

Better for Balms

I purchased this wax for my lipgloss and it was very good just not for lipgloss, this wax is better for balms and to thicken creams.

Great dispersant

I use this as a dispersant for zinc oxide in my sunscreen formulation, and it is very effective. I'm so glad TKB carries this ingredient; I could not find it anywhere else!

Perfect Addition to Mustache & Beard Wax

This product was key to making an exceptional firm hold mustache wax or moldable hair pomade for my male customers without using lanolin. I am highly allergic to lanolin, so I never use it in my formulations. Polyester Castor Wax has a similar sticky texture and is pliable at room temperature. With the addition of some kaolin clay in my formula to give it some texture and tackiness, it turned an "okay" product that was so-so into a perfect beard and mustache styling product, according to my friend and men's product tester, Kendall Braa.
