Allantoin
Particle size (10-50 microns).
Allantoin (pronounced: [uh-lan-toh-in] isa fluffy, white, cyrstalline powder with no odor.
The product is 100% synthetic with respect to source, manufacture and treatment.
Allantoin's purpose is to protect the skin. Commonly, it is foundin creams, lotions, lipsticks, lip balms, sunscreens . . . things like that.
MMU (Mineral MakeUp) crafters also like to use it in their loose powder because it is so soothing and beneficial to the skin. For example, the FDA considers it a great product forminor cuts, sunburn, diaper rash and chapped lips. It also stimulates the growth of new skin.
Allantoin is not used by itself. In your formula, you should use between 0.5% - 2.0% by weight. For example, if you had a 100 gram recipe,youwould use only0.5 - 2 grams. So, you don't need a lot!
Allantoin is a crystal created by the oxidation of uric acid.
