High shine and crystal clear gloss base full of Possibility! This base was formerly called TKB Possibility Base.

TKB G-Base is a sticky, clear gel product made from Polybutene/Polyisobutene. Moisturizing and hydrating with added Vitamin E.

For use in DIY lip gloss and cosmetic formulation.

This product is vegan and cruelty free.

Polyisobutene, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E).

TKB G-Base is a high shine and crystal clear gloss base full of Possibility! This lip gloss base includes Vitamin E for additional moisture and hydration. Great choice for transparent lip gloss formulas. Ideally colored with liquids like those from the Mosaic Lip Liquid Set. Dyes or lightweight color additives are best for this base. Heavy powders or pigments (particularly Titanium Dioxide) are likely to settle since it has a thinner viscosity than TKB Gloss Base.

For more info on all TKB lip gloss bases, read our blog post.

TKB's G-Base is essentially a polyisobutene/polybutene product.  Because it has a honey-like viscosity, it is smooth and clear.  But, it is also thin enough that you do need to pay attention to how you work with it.  Here are some tips:

  1. This is a NON-POLAR oil, which means that it will not stay well blended with POLAR oils unless you add an emulsifier.
  2. Having said that, it is easily emulsified.
  3. If you are using TKB PG Base at 100% to make a lip gloss, you need to color with dyes only (think:  TKB's Mosaic Collection, as an example).  If you add pigments or micas, they will tend to fall to the bottom of the container over time, because the product is too viscous.  So, if you want to use these heavier pigments, please do texturize the PG Base with waxes or other thickeners or emulsifiers.
